The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives has appointed Ali Fauzy as the Honorary Consul of Russia to the Maldives. The appointment was announced by Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid at a special ceremony in Male.

Fauzy is the Managing Director of Steel Hardware, a leading construction company in the Maldives. He is also a member of the Maldives Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Shahid expressed confidence that Fauzy's appointment would help to strengthen the economic, cultural, and commercial ties between the Maldives and Russia. He noted that Russia is a major source market for tourism in the Maldives, and that the appointment of an Honorary Consul would help to facilitate travel and trade between the two countries.

Fauzy said that he was honored to be appointed as Honorary Consul of Russia, and that he would work hard to promote the relationship between the Maldives and Russia.
