Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer Bolsters Diplomatic Ties in Meetings with Indian, Chinese, and Japanese Envoys

Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer engaged in strategic discussions with the High Commissioner of India to the Maldives, Munu Mahawar, and Ambassador of China to the Maldives, Wang Lixin. Additionally, Minister Zameer convened with Ambassador of Japan, Tekeuchi Midori, in a series of meetings aimed at reinforcing diplomatic relations.


In the meeting with High Commissioner Mahawar, Minister Zameer delved into discussions centered on elevating the longstanding collaboration between the Maldives and India. The talks encompassed a range of areas, emphasizing the enduring partnership in developmental projects. Notably, India's instrumental role in initiating significant infrastructure projects in the Maldives, such as the Thilamale' Bridge, Hanimaadhoo International Airport, Hankede Bridge, and the development of roads in Addu City, took center stage.


In the meeting with Ambassador Lixin, Minister Zameer explored avenues to further fortify the amicable relations and cooperation between the Maldives and China. The discussions highlighted China's substantial contributions to the economic development of the Maldives through key projects like the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge and the Hiya housing project in Hulhumale' Phase II.


The meeting with Ambassador of Japan, Tekeuchi Midori, centered on shared goals and strengthening existing bilateral ties. Minister Zameer and Ambassador Midori also explored possibilities for future collaboration, expressing mutual appreciation for the enduring friendship between their two nations.


Minister Moosa Zameer's diplomatic engagements underscore the Maldives' commitment to nurturing and expanding cooperative ties with key international partners, fostering a climate of collaboration and shared development.
