Fathimath Dheema Ali has once again etched her name in national sports history by clinching her fifth consecutive title at the National Table Tennis Championship. The young athlete triumphed over her competitor Aishath Rafa Nazim in the women's singles final, further solidifying her position as a dominant force in the sport.
Beyond her singles victory, Dheema showcased her versatility and skill by claiming three additional titles in this year’s tournament. She excelled in the Under-19 singles, mixed doubles, and open doubles categories. In the Under-19 singles final, Dheema secured the title by defeating Malaak Binth Muizzu.
In the open doubles category, Dheema formed a formidable partnership with Mishka Mohamed Ibrahim, successfully overcoming the duo of Rafa and Laisa Fathuhulla Ismail to capture the championship. However, the young athlete faced a setback in the open mixed doubles final alongside men’s singles champion Akhyar Ahmad Khalid, where they were bested by Rafa and Moosa Munsif Ahmed. Nevertheless, Dheema redeemed herself in the Under-19 mixed doubles, where she and Akhyar claimed victory against Zeek Hassan Latheef and Minha Mahjoob Shujau.
